Plunkett’s Pest Control expands in Kansas with acquisition of McKinzie Pest Control, a family-owned business with regional offices in Manhattan and Emporia, Kan.

FRIDLEY, Minn. -  Plunkett’s Pest Control, Fridley, Minn., announced its acquisition of McKinzie Pest Control, a family-owned business with regional offices in Manhattan and Emporia, Kan. Plunkett’s says the acquisition of McKinzie Pest Control represents a significant milestone for the company as it continues to grow and expand its presence in Kansas.

Founded by Steve’s father, Vernon McKinzie in 1960, McKinzie Pest Control has a rich history of industry leadership. Vernon was a board-certified entomologist, served as president of both the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and the Kansas Pest Control Association (KPCA).

Steve McKinzie, the current President and CEO, began working for the company while in high school and joined the firm full-time in 1980 after earning his degree in biology and business from Emporia State University. Steve and his wife Kayla are stepping back from the business to focus on health and spend time with their family.
