PPMA Appoints Two New Board Members

The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) board welcomes Marillian Missiti, president of Buono Pest Control, Belmont, Mass., and Steve Gullickson, president of MGK, Minneapolis, Minn.

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) announced the addition of two new members to its board of directors. Marillian Missiti, president of Buono Pest Control, Belmont, Mass., and Steve Gullickson, president of MGK, Minneapolis, Minn. will join the group, working to increase consumer awareness about the value of professional pest control services and to protect the industry’s reputation through ongoing national and local media outreach, advertising campaigns, public service announcements, digital communications and research.

“We could not be more pleased to add these two seasoned industry professionals to our board of directors. Each brings added perspectives and ideas to help us continue in our mission to grow, protect, promote and defend our industry,” said PPMA Chairman Tom Fortson. “Both of these new board members have been contributing their financial resources as Guardians of PPMA and we look forward to their leadership as well.”

Missiti, a second-generation pest control owner, is active with the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), having served on the NPMA board of directors and as chair of the Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM) committee, in addition to work on several other committees.  She is also a past president of the New England Pest Management Association (NEPMA) and remains closely involved with the group today.

Gullickson is also deeply committed to the pest control industry and has served in various leadership capacities, including a term as Chairman of RISE and on the boards of CropLife America, Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) and the Chemical Producers & Distributors Association (CPDA).

“Marillian and Steve will undoubtedly bring a wealth of knowledge about our industry to the table and we are all very excited they have accepted the positions. Their first ‘official’ board meeting will be in conjunction with NPMA’s PestWorld convention in Seattle, Washington in October, but they are working now to get up to speed on existing board responsibilities,” said Cindy Mannes, chief operating officer and executive director of the PPMA.
