PPMA Unveils Redesigned Consumer Website PestWorld.org

The site, which sees more than 6 million unique visits a year, features modern page designs and an improved user experience.

FAIRFAX, Va. — The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the leading consumer marketing and public outreach organization whose mission it is to grow and protect the professional pest control industry, today unveiled the new look for its popular consumer website, PestWorld.org

“Our consumer website is our main hub chock full of incredible content and information that a variety of users – from homeowners to commercial property managers to members of the media – rely on for pest prevention advice and educational resources about the pest issues commonly found in homes and businesses,” said Dr. Jim Fredericks, executive director of PPMA. “With a site that has a 20-year history consistently fueled by robust marketing programs, there gets to be an enormous amount of content and finding how to serve up that content to align with today’s user journey was key in the redesign process.”

The redesign, which has been underway for over a year, includes a fresh look for all pages, including the homepage, Pest Guides and Find a Pro locator tool, where consumers can find local National Pest Management Association member companies. These modern designs and the reorganization of content found throughout the website are intended to improve the user experience for consumers. The site also has new pest photography and an updated logo to match the modern design.

“When we started on this effort in October 2022, we knew it would be a massive undertaking and an important project knowing what a critical resource PestWorld.org is for consumers,” said Fredericks. “We looked at data that showed us how consumers typically navigate throughout the site, in addition to what pages are most visited, and rebuilt it with this information in mind. Our goal was to create a better user experience in tandem with modern and upgraded designs that highlight key elements of PestWorld.org.”

To further assist consumers looking for information about pests, a Pest Identifier Tool will be added to the site. Using a short series of questions, the tool will help a consumer narrow down which pest is suspected in their home. The Pest Identifier Tool is expected to launch in Spring 2024.

PestWorld.org is fully funded by the generous financial investments of PPMA Guardian and Contributor companies. The marketing and public awareness initiatives executed by PPMA all drive people back to PestWorld.org to learn more and to find a qualified local pest control professional.
