Timothy Madere, special projects coordinator/pest control specialist for the City of New Orleans Mosquito, Rodent, and Termite Control Board, submitted video footage of a rat using an open sewer pipe to gain entrance into a basement.
"The pipe leads to a toilet that rats had also utilized to gain entry to the first floor," Madere said.

Madere also worked with rat trapper Jay Newman to help solve a challenging roof rat issue in Florida. Newman captured video of a roof rat escaping what appeared to be a lethal neck snap.
