TROY, Mich., and CLEVELAND – Rose Pest Solutions expands in northern Ohio with the acquisition of Central Exterminating, Cleveland. The deal closed on Dec. 1.

In addition to its Cleveland headquarters, Central Exterminating has offices in Sandusky and Elyria, Ohio. Founded in 1948, Central Exterminating currently has 30 employees and services 4,800 residential and commercial accounts.

Jim Ives, president of Rose Pest Solutions, told PCT the acquisition fits into Rose Pest Solutions’ strategy to maximize its territories. Currently, Rose Pest Solutions services Northern Ohio from its Cuyahoga Falls (Akron, Ohio area) location.

“This acquisition helps bridge some of the areas that we currently service and helps create more density in our clients, so it was just a great fit,” Ives said. “Of the companies that we have bought, Central most closely resembles Rose,” in terms of company culture and residential-commercial mix.

Central was previously owned by Cindy Doe, who purchased the company in 2008. Doe reached out to Ives, seeking a reputable service provider similar in scope to Central that would take care of her employees, several of whom were long-tenured.

Ives said Rose plans on retaining all Central employees as well as the three offices, and plans to keep the Central branding, at least in the immediate future. Jeff Teague, Ohio region manager, for Rose Pest Solutions, will oversee the Central business, while Tim Hughart, senior manager, Central Exterminating, will run the day-to-day operations.
