COLUMBUS, Ohio — Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control announced the opening its newest franchise location in Columbus, Ohio.
At the helm of the new Skedaddle franchise in Columbus are Geoff and Kara Finn, a dynamic husband-and-wife team with diverse leadership backgrounds. Geoff brings experience as an entrepreneur and seasoned business leader, having held key roles in product management and strategic planning at Stand Together and senior leadership positions at CURO Financial Technologies. Kara has a career in the aviation industry, where she led large teams and implemented strategic improvements at companies like Jet East/West Star Aviation and Bombardier-Learjet.
“With Columbus’s rapid urbanization, the demand for sustainable and humane wildlife solutions has never been greater,” said Kara. “Our focus is on resolving wildlife conflicts in a way that protects both the residents and the ecosystems they share.”
Columbus’s booming population and urban development present an opportunity for Skedaddle to serve the community, said Bill Dowd, founder and CEO of Skedaddle.
“Our franchisees come from a wide background, predominantly those looking to get out of corporate America and run a business for themselves. The demand continues to grow in wildlife,” Dowd said.
Dowd said phone calls are already coming in for services in the Columbus, Ohio, while the location doesn't officially open until Feb. 3.
“Squirrels, mice and rats, they’re not going away in our urban centers, they’re continuing to flourish,” he said. “Demand for our services are continuing to rise.” The company’s services focus on animal-proofing homes and using exclusion strategies to prevent future issues.
Founded in Canada, Skedaddle opened 22 franchise locations last year in the U.S. Skedaddle’s next franchise location will be in Denver, Colo., in the coming weeks, Dowd said.
