GREENSBORO, N.C. - Terminix-Triad, the family-owned franchise that has provided pest control services to the Triad of North Carolina since 1932, announced that Burns Blackwell has become the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the company effective January 1, 2013. Marie Horner has also become the new Vice-President of Operations.  Harden Blackwell, who has worked with the franchise since 1971 as President and CEO, is now Chairman.

Terminix-Triad is a franchise of Terminix International, the world’s largest pest control company.  The business has been managed by four generations, dating back to 1932, when Burns’ great grandfather, Robert O. Burns founded the franchise. Terminix-Triad’s 14 branches and more than 200 employees serve 17 counties in the Piedmont. It is the 29th largest pest control company in the United States, out of more than 21,000 nationwide.

Burns Blackwell was the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Terminix-Triad and has worked with the franchise since 2001. Marie Horner was the Director of Operations and has worked with the franchise since 2004.

“In order to continue our growth, we will need new leadership,” said Harden Blackwell. “Working together with our leadership team and staff, Burns and Marie will help ensure that we remain the largest and best pest and termite control provider in the region, and a great place to work.”

“Terminix-Triad has thrived under the leadership of my Dad and Grandfather, and it’s an honor to follow in theirs footsteps,” said Burns Blackwell. “I look forward to working together with our hard-working, incredible employees to provide high quality customer service to families and businesses throughout the Triad.”
