Looking to buy a gift for that someone special? Or maybe that not so special someone. Either way, The Bronx Zoo has you covered again this year with the opportunity to name a cockroach in honor of your Valentine.
For a $10 donation, your loved one, or unloved one, will receive a digital certificate featuring the name chosen for your Valentine’s roach. According to the Bronx Zoo website, those feeling extra romantic have the option of adding on chocolates or a roach plush for $35, or $50 for both.
You can even meet your cockroach virtually this year. "Curl up with your special someone for a romantic Valentine's Virtual Encounter with a Madagascar hissing cockroach," the website said.
The Bronx Zoo started the “Name a Roach” program in 2011 as a way to raise money. Proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
