
COLUMBUS, Ohio — TORCO announced its acquisition of the Giddy Up and Go Termite and Pest Control Company of Columbus Ohio. Giddy Up is a general termite and pest firm with over three decades of experience. It was founded by Davis DeClouet, who worked for years with Varment Guard before going it on his own. The firm has a heavy involvement in the real estate inspection sector.
“The merger is a perfect fit for TORCO, which is aggressively pursuing small companies and operators who want to sell or merge their companies with a growing firm,” says John Breen, president of TORCO. “We are focusing on the small guys throughout Ohio right now. We want to build on the synergy that results from good relationships and strategic planning.”
Besides Ohio, TORCO is preparing the release nationally of “econ-franchises, and micro ventures” intended to offer small operators the benefits of a small business, but with the backing of an experienced parent. “It’s the ultimate opportunity for the small guy,” says John Breen. “It levels the playing field.” TORCO intends to offer the business model in over 100 markets through 2030. TORCO has a history dating back to 1900. The current management are former long-term owners of a Terminix franchise that had three generations of family involvement.
