ORLANDO, Fla. —Truly Nolen’s VW Mouselimo and Mousecars joined in the 19th Annual Celebrity Mascot Games in Orlando, featuring mascots from Major League Baseball, the NFL, NBA, NCAA and the NHL.
The mascots, many of which have gigantic heads, were set up on teams and competed against each other in a variety of wild and wacky games. A highlight of the games on Friday and Saturday included a contest where the mascots thought they had to stuff themselves into the Truly Nolen stretch Mouselimo in the middle of the Amway Center. The catch: The contest was not to have them pack into the stretch limousine, but to stuff themselves into four little yellow Mousecars that rolled onto the field.
The likes of the Baltimore Orioles’ Oriole Bird, the University of Oregon’s Duck; Buffalo Sabres’ Sabretooth; Dallas Cowboys’ Rowdy, Orlando Magic’s Stuff, the University of Florida’s Albert and Alberta, and Bucky Badger of the University of Wisconsin all tried to quickly squeeze into the Mousecars.
Proceeds from the games benefited the New Hope for Kids, a Central Florida organization that grants wishes and offers specialized grief support for children and families.
JANSON PROMOTION. In other Truly Nolen news, the company announced the promotion of Steve Janson to manage the Phoenix branch (2711 W. Indian School Rd.), the company’s largest in the district. He will monitor and evaluate administrative staff, technicians and sales inspectors, and handle the day-to-day operations.
Janson started at Truly Nolen in 2005 and entered into the Manager-Training-Program in 2006. Later that year, he became the Sun City manager, a position he held for three years. In 2009, he became the branch manager of Chandler, and he is now moving up to manage the company’s highest-profile branch in the Phoenix district.
“Steve has been in the pest control industry for many years and his people skills will be the perfect fit for this branch,” said Dave Johnson, district manager of central Arizona. “I believe he will create wonderful opportunities and grow the Phoenix branch even more as the new manager.”
