Description: The New Orleans Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board (NOMTRCB) works to enhance the quality of life in New Orleans by monitoring and controlling the city’s rodent population. In this webinar, NOMTRCB director Claudia Riegel will share what she and her team have learned about rodent populations by monitoring them using cameras. Another opportunity that NOMTRCB seized to study changes in rodent populations was the COVID lockdown. NOMTRCB used the time during the initial stages of the COVID lockdown to reduce the city’s rat population in the French Quarter area, and Riegel will share some of this work NOMTRCB observations about rodent behavior.
