Amended Termidor® and Phantom® Labels from BASF
BASF Professional Pest Control announces new label amendments to its Termidor® and Phantom® termiticide/insecticide products.
PerimeterPLUS is an exciting new application option on Termidor®’s exclusive EPA-approved EP/LIT amendment. The amendment means that Termidor® SC and Termidor® 80 WG can now be used as Exterior Perimeter/Localized Interior treatments for post-construction control of subterranean termites within a structure. Termidor® is the only liquid termiticide approved for this use. The new Termidor® label includes both conventional and PerimeterPLUS use directions.
Phantom® insecticide can now be applied for nuisance ant and cockroach control in food/feed product areas of food/feed handling establishments, where food and food products are held, processed, prepared and/or served. This new use is added to the existing use of the insecticide for general pest control in non-food handling areas of structures. In addition, Phantom® can now also be applied to pest entry points on the exterior surfaces of structures.
The Termidor® PerimeterPLUS amendment has been approved for use in all but four states, while PMPs may begin using the amended Phantom® label as soon as labeling reflecting this amended use is registered in each state. For more information, visit www.PestControlFacts.com, or call 877/837-6436.
Bird-X Offers Two Great Bird Control Products: Stainless SPIKES Needle Strips and Quadblaster QB-4
Stainless SPIKES Needle Strips from Bird-X eliminate roosting and nesting surfaces from any building or structure. The spikes project from the base creating a full (5-inch-spread), dense and sharply pointed barrier so birds can’t land. Material is ST302 Hard Surgical Grade Stainless Steel, plus UV-inhibited polycarbonate, resistant to virtually all weather and harsh environments. Holes along the base allow easy attachment with screws, nails, adhesive or wire tires. Its flexibility allows hassle-free installation on straight-aways, curves, corners or irregular surfaces — even trees, arches, statues and curved sign-letters. Spike strips come pre-assembled; there’s no extra labor.
Another product for pest management professionals from Bird-X is the Quadblaster QB-4. Bird droppings are unsightly, unhealthy and expensive to clean. QB-4 uses ultrasonic sound to repel birds. Four Piezo ceramic speakers project powerful ultrasonic waves in an overlapping fan pattern for 360°- coverage. The frequency level irritates birds, but humans can’t hear it. Speaker sequencing, frequency and warble rate are adjustable for virtually any situation so birds don’t acclimate. The 110 vAC (220 vAC available) unit with no moving parts covers 6,500 square feet. Use in industrial, commercial, government and school buildings, loading docks, railroad sidings, hangars, warehouses, boathouses, silos, barns, gabled roofs, arenas, etc.

Liphatech’s AEGIS-RP Bait Station: An Effective And Economical Tool
Liphatech Inc.’s technologically advanced AEGIS™-RP bait stations offer rodent professionals an economical and highly effective management tool for control of rodent populations.
The AEGIS-RP is engineered to simulate an acceptable part of a rodent’s environment. It features a see-through design that allows rodents to see the exit prior to entry, as well as convenient, stay-on-the runway access. Additionally, a simple feeding chamber requires less travel to the bait. Because each rodent problem is different, the AEGIS-RP can be positioned on its side, as well as laid flat to attract all commensal rodent species — Norway rats, roof rats and house mice. When positioned on its edge, the station becomes a versatile tool PMPs can mount in a variety of positions for greater placement flexibility. Additionally, its recessed locks are less susceptible to clogging by snow during the winter months when it’s in a vertical position.
The AEGIS-RP is also the only rodent bait station designed exclusively for rodenticide placement that opens away from the wall. The unique design allows for a writing surface and/or data storage area on the station’s lid enabling PMPs to keep track of useful data, such as service dates and bait consumption.
To ensure durability and combat breakage associated with “living-hinged” lids, the AEGIS-RP features a rotating hinge, similar to the other members of the AEGIS bait station family. This hinge extends the service life of the station, thereby reducing replacement costs.
Mars Air Curtains Sustain a More Productive Food Environment
Mars Air Doors manufactures superior air curtains that effectively improve sanitation levels while guarding against the elements. These dependable units are designed to protect against the intrusion of flying insects, dust and fumes. They reduce energy costs and increase worker productivity. Air curtains are ideal in a variety of food-service applications, including above walk-up or drive-up windows, walk-in coolers/freezers, receiving or loading dock doors and employee or customer entrances.
Mars air curtains help maintain a facility’s desired comfort level so employees work more efficiently and customers are more comfortable. In cold food storage areas, such as walk-in coolers or freezers, air curtains prove to be an especially vital addition. They help to maintain optimum safe storage temperatures in coolers and freezers when doors are left open. In addition, they reduce compressor run time, thus lowering energy expense and maintenance costs. On loading docks, the Mars air curtain displays distinct advantages over plastic strip curtains. Not only do they provide unobstructed visibility, but they also create a more sanitary working condition since the unit never comes into contact with food carts. Because the Mars air curtain works continuously, as opposed to other solutions that may need to be disabled while moving product in and out, there is no disruption to temperature, the insect shield or worker comfort.
These reliable and cost effective air curtains are available from Mars Air Doors, Gardena, Calif. For more information, call 800/421-1266.

VARMITgetter: The Safest Burrowing Pest Control Device Featuring
Remote Control
VARMITgetter manufactures a pest control device that deals with burrowing animals specifically. The VARMITgetter operates the same as the other devices with a propane and oxygen mix injected into the burrow and upon ignition, causes an underground explosion which destroys the targeted pest and tunnel system. However, unlike past technology, VARMITgetter is not a hand-held unit. The operator does not hold the applicator when producing the blast and can be up to 25 feet away from the blast site. A calibrated mixture of 95 percent oxygen, 5 percent propane is dispersed remotely into the tunnel system. It is remote detonated to ensure the operator is not affected by the blast. The tunnel system and anything in the tunnel is gone. If the tunnel system remains intact, another varmint will move in. The single dispersion hose provides a gas mix, giving more efficient, effective and consistent blasts. It is smaller and better balanced making it more portable to move from burrow to burrow and easier to use on gophers, voles, mole, etc., and able to do larger holes such as prairie dogs, ground squirrels, etc.
Park and school districts love VARMITgetter because there are no poisons and it will not destroy healthy sod.

Huot, a Certified Wildlife Control Professional (CWCP) who has been trapping moles commercially since 1996, and produced by Emmy-award winning videographer Eric J. Budney.
This video takes the viewer step-by-step through mole biology and habits: the differences between moles, voles and shrews; identifying problem areas; and setting techniques for the most commonly used mole traps on the market, e.g., the Spear, Scissors (Out O’ Sight), Nash and NoMol traps. Alan also goes through some common mistakes made by professionals and homeowners alike when attempting to trap moles. Alan also shows you the results, displaying mole captures.
Alan Huot has more than 30 years of experience in addition to running a full-service wildlife control business. This 43 minute-video will give the wildlife control professional the confidence they need to consistently capture moles.
